What to Expect During Treatment

Juvederm® injections are performed in an office setting and typically take about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the areas being treated.

Treatment involves careful placement using fine needles or a cannula, allowing for controlled, precise shaping. Many Juvederm® products contain lidocaine to help improve comfort during the procedure, and additional numbing with topical anesthetic or ice may be used if needed.

After treatment, it’s normal to experience some temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising. These effects are usually mild and resolve over the course of several days.

Recovery and Aftercare

Juvederm® treatments involve minimal downtime, and most patients return to normal activities the same day or shortly after treatment.

After your appointment, you may be advised to take it easy for the rest of the day. Strenuous activity is typically avoided for about 24 hours, and it’s best to limit heat and sun exposure during that initial period. You’ll also want to avoid unnecessary pressure on the treated areas unless specifically instructed otherwise.

These simple precautions help support proper healing and reduce the risk of unwanted swelling or irritation.

How Long Do Results Last?

The longevity of Juvederm® depends on the product used and the area treated.

In general, results may last between 9 and 18 months. Areas with more movement, such as the lips, may require maintenance sooner, while structural areas like the cheeks may retain results longer.

Individual metabolism and lifestyle factors can influence duration.

Safety Considerations
